Real Estate Advertising Ideas Part Two
5) Use postcards
Postcards are great for reaching people at home.
6) Use door hangers
Some of the most effective door hangers start off with “I was in your area today”. That way, people do not feel like they are singled out especially if they are in foreclosure, they are particularly sensitive about being singled out.
7) Making Use of White Pages
White pages usably have good information such as the “Housing Authority” information and Section 8 landlord list. You can get the list and call the list in your area. When calling a Section 8 landlord, you can say that you want to be on their buyers list and then ask if they have anything that they want to sell. You never know who might be wanting to get out at the time that you contact them.
There is a technique that worked in the past for many people.

If you have to leave your phone number or information, then you should drive to the property to see the landlord yourself to give your business card in person. That will give a good impression as well as reinforce to them that you are serious about buying. |
Meeting in person will give you another opportunity to discuss if there is any properties that they might be interested in selling.
Advertise in Schools
You can buy ads in school newsletters or year books. You can support the school while gaining exposure for your business. Advertising in school publications is usually cost effective. For a 1/4 page ad, it can cost you less than $100. To start advertising in school, contact all schools in your area. You can pass flyers at school open houses. Use bright color paper such as bright pink so that no one can miss your flyers. Make sure you have your phone number on the flyers.
9) Contacting Charities
There are charities such as the Red Cross which you can find in white pages that pay people for emergency bills. You should contact them and let them know how you can help people that may be seeking help through them. Stay in touch with them by calling them now and then and sending postcards and cards.
