Real Estate Advertising Ideas Part Two
5) Use postcards
Postcards are great for reaching people at home.
6) Use door hangers
Some of the most effective door hangers start off with “I was in your area today”. That way, people do not feel like they are singled out especially if they are in foreclosure, they are particularly sensitive about being singled out.
7) Making Use of White Pages
White pages usably have good information such as the “Housing Authority” information and Section 8 landlord list. You can get the list and call the list in your area. When calling a Section 8 landlord, you can say that you want to be on their buyers list and then ask if they have anything that they want to sell. You never know who might be wanting to get out at the time that you contact them.
There is a technique that worked in the past for many people.

If you have to leave your phone number or information, then you should drive to the property to see the landlord yourself to give your business card in person. That will give a good impression as well as reinforce to them that you are serious about buying. |
Meeting in person will give you another opportunity to discuss if there is any properties that they might be interested in selling.
Advertise in Schools
You can buy ads in school newsletters or year books. You can support the school while gaining exposure for your business. Advertising in school publications is usually cost effective. For a 1/4 page ad, it can cost you less than $100. To start advertising in school, contact all schools in your area. You can pass flyers at school open houses. Use bright color paper such as bright pink so that no one can miss your flyers. Make sure you have your phone number on the flyers.
9) Contacting Charities
There are charities such as the Red Cross which you can find in white pages that pay people for emergency bills. You should contact them and let them know how you can help people that may be seeking help through them. Stay in touch with them by calling them now and then and sending postcards and cards.
Keywords Real Estate Marketing Online
Question: How would you promote a country like Romania? Online-Internet vs. offline promotion.?
I am especially interested to find out what media environment do you think would influence travelers and business people decisions in the most effective way! Internet-online, TV, radio, print etc.
I would appreciate if you could also include a short personal point of view on Romania image abroad, because I would like to have an idea how people from other countries perceive this country, and why they would visit or do business in this country? Because they read about Romania on the Internet, read about in the Financial Times or see a TV show?
keywords: travel destinations, doing businesses, Romania, country brand, Danube Delta, beautiful landscapes, sea side, real estate opportunities, open market, economy growth etc.
Opinions from all over the world are welcome!
Answer: I AM an advertising and marketing professional, and I think I have a few ideas to pass on.
First of all, I’d look into advertising on Cable Television. Depending upon your budget, which I assume is pretty extensive if you’re looking to market tourism to Romania, I’d go straight to the networks themselves. You can find “The Travel Channel” or “The Discovery Channel” or similar channels that cater to people interested in other cultures and travelling. You can find them, most likely, in New York City. You can buy nationally from them, or you can contact local cable operators in specific cities (New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, etc) and inquire about buying those markets individually.
The goal is to target your advertising to those people most likely to spend the money to visit your country. That would include people affluent enough to afford the trip, and curious enough to want to make the journey. I don’t believe radio works for you. Newspaper is dead, and hardly anyone reads enough to make advertising in newspapers worth anything.
I would spend at least half of the money you have creating incredible brochures with the most beautiful pictures of Romania you can find. Mail these brochures to every Travel Agency you can find. These folks STILL make a huge difference in helping people decide where to spend their vacation dollars.
Next I’d target online travel sites. You can probably find some good deals with smaller sites to place banner ads and so forth. Stay away from pop-up’s. Most people already block them electronically, and EVERYONE hates them. Spend the money to advertise on the largest travel sites you can afford. It will be worth the money, and much more effective than using tons of smaller sites.
Beyond that, I would have to know more about your goals and budgets, as well as some more information on Romania and the tourism aspects of your country to be able to guide you any further.
I’m happy to help if you need more assistance. I can be reached at diversitymarketing@yahoo.com if you need further help.
Good luck!
